JOHN Crompton's amazing run since taking over as the Mond Reserves manager in November proved too much for the rest of the third division and John's team won the league last Saturday without kicking a football.

Mond needed one point the previous Monday at MBNA, Chester but lost 1-0.

Mond's goal difference now came into play leaving Willaston to win by seven clear goals at Blacon and New Brighton to win by nine goals at home to St Werburgh's, a result that proved to be beyond the teams.

Mond were due to receive the championship trophy after their West Cheshire shield final against Upton AA at Christleton on Tuesday night.

MOND'S final game in the second division following their promotion to division one saw them come from behind to beat Poulton Victoria at Pavilions on Saturday.

Mond play New Brighton in the final of the West Cheshire bowl at Poulton Vics on Friday, kick-off 6.30pm.

Two top non-league games at Mond Rangers Pavilions ground are on Tuesday, May 10, West Cheshire League v Mid Cheshire League, kick-off 6.30pm and Saturday, May 14, West Cheshire League v Isle of Man, kick-off 2pm.
