BUSINESSES and residents are wanted to wrap up warm and play a part in providing a valuable community base for vulnerable young people.
A Big Sleep Out will be held in Victoria Park to raise funds for the Life Skills Academy Appeal.
The purpose behind the Relationships Centre’s charity event is to make dreams come true by raising enough funds to create a Life Skills Academy.
The facility will offer young people the chance to access help and support to resolve issues affecting them.
Money raised will go into the community resource that will include a kitchen, garden, an IT room, music area, family room and space for one-on-one sessions.
Teams of between four and 10 people are wanted to enter the event on September 26.
The Latchford park event will start at 7pm and end at 6am.
The evening will involve fun-filled activities including an It’s A Knockout-style competition, speeches and a quiz.
Or go the extra stride and become a member of The Relationships Centre’s New Balance English Half Marathon team.
The run will take place on October 4 and will raise funds for the Life Skills Academy.
The academy will protect children from the area and support the community.
Those interested in taking part in either event, or businesses interested in sponsoring rooms within the academy, should call Lucy on 246910 or e-mail lucy@healthyrelationships.
