PARENTS and pupils at Lymm High School have been told that they are to have a new school uniform from September, sparking protests at the school.

They were informed of the decision in a letter that was sent to parents yesterday from head teacher Angela Walsh.

Pupils staged a demonstration today to protest against the decision.

"We are hoping this will get it through to her (Mrs Walsh) that we don't want it," one pupil said.

Already there is a Facebook group set up opposing the change and a petition circling the school.

Lymm High School's current uniform is navy blue and grey, with different coloured ties for each of the five houses.

The new uniform is believed to be black and red with tartan skirts for girls.
