TWO soldiers serving their country in Afghanistan remembered their home town by waving the Warrington Wolves flag.
Robert Appleton and Martin Bird, of the 4th Battalion The Mercian Regiment at the Widnes TA have been in Helmand Province for three months.
Nineteen-year-old Robert, of Tyne Close, Padgate, and Martin, of Oakland Street, returned to Warrington for a two-week break, half way into their six-month deployment, on Tuesday.
The avid rugby fans will be making the most of their time off by watching the match against Castleford Tigers on Saturday.
