THE star-studded life of being a teen pin-up seems to be taking its toll on the town’s favourite dancing sensation George Sampson.

In the tabloids last week, the 15-year-old said he has become victim of a hate campaign in Warrington.

In The Sun, he was reported to have said : “They don’t like the fact I’ve moved to London. They think I’ve disowned them.

“There was a survey of the people Warrington’s most proud of and I came nowhere –even Kerry Katona came above me.”

He went on to say he was booed by some peers when he returned to his home town to judge a talent contest.

This time last year the former Birchwood Community High School pupil wowed judges and millions of viewers with his sleek dance routines on the ITV show Britain’s Got Talent.

Despite his dreams being dashed at one of the final hurdles of the competition the year before, the determined teen chased his dreams of becoming a professional dancer and performing at the Royal Variety Show to secure the top prize.

Fellow Warrington starlet Kerry Katona, a former Padgate High School student, hit the limelight as a teenager as a third of the pop-trio Atomic Kitten.

After leaving the girl band her career flopped but surged again after her ‘girl next door personality’ crowned her Queen of the jungle on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here in 2004.

The Warrington Guardian Pride of Warrington campaign highlights the people in the town who have gone the extra mile to put a smile of residents’ faces.
