A MANCHESTER United Foundation player is relishing a double celebration after lifting two champions trophies in two weeks.

Sixteen-year-old Jess Dorman, a left back for the under 16s girls squad, along with her 10 team-mates, were crowned national champions of the Tesco Cup after beating opponents West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at The Walker Stadium, Leicester, on May 17.

Success continued for the Lymm High School pupil, of Bradshaw Lane, Grappenhall, at the UK final at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton, on Sunday when the Manchester side represented England.

The teenagers took the honours after winning 1-0 in extra time against last year’s champions, Scotland’s Hibernian FC u16s.

Jess did not get much time to celebrate her first triumph as the game fell on a Sunday, so it was back to school on Monday to prepare for her GCSEs.

But the second celebration was marked with a family meal at The White Apron restaurant, on Church Street.

She said: “It was brilliant playing at Bolton’s ground. Looking up and seeing the stands was unreal.”

The athletic teenager used to play for Blackburn Rovers until the club she supports snapped her up when she was 14.

She said: “It is really great playing for the Manchester United Foundation team, it’s good to be playing for a team that everybody knows.

“We train at the Cliff Training Ground in Salford once a week for two hours.”

Zeki Istanbul, Manchester United u16 team manager, said: “The final was absolutely brilliant. The girls have worked really hard to get here and deserved to win the UK final.”
