MEMBERS of Birchwood Town Council have agreed to object to a plan for a new phone mast in Locking Stumps.

Phone giant Vodafone wants to build a 17.7metre pole on land at Locking Stumps Lane.

But residents lobbied the town council to say that the mast would now be located just 100m from some homes.

They say that will be too close on health and safety grounds and argue that it will be a large eyesore and could affect the price of homes in the area.
