TWO tiny kittens are recovering after they were deliberately set on fire.
Warrington Animal Welfare is appealing for information into the circumstances of the cruelty after the pair, both four weeks old, were found in agony in a pub car park in St Helens last Thursday.
The brother and sister sustained extensive burns to their ears and paws and singing to their fur, whiskers and eye brows.
The tortoiseshell will also have to have her tail amputated because it was so badly burned.
It is thought that the balls of fluff were thrown into a fire after their mum died.
Janet Thornton, a volunteer for the charity, said: “They are domestic kittens they were not feral so someone must know what happened to them.
”There is no need for this kind of mindless cruelty.”
Anyone who can help with the costs of their care or with any information about the incident is asked to call either Janet on 07834 984201 or Sue on 07772 722709.
Cheques can be sent to Warrington Animal Welfare, 9 Alderbank Road, Great Sankey, Warrington.
