BUCKETS and sponges will be at the ready on Saturday to help make a difference to the community.

Staff and supporters of The Relationships Centre will be ready and waiting for kind-hearted people of Warrington to call at Crosfield Road’s Aldi store’s car park and get their car washed.

The organisers will be cleaning people’s vehicles for a donation of £3.50 or £3 in advance. The funds will go towards the Gateway based, Sankey Street centre’s Life Skills Academy.

The project aims to keep every young person who runs away in Warrington safe.

Each year in the UK more than 100,000 young people runaway. A night on the streets can lead to being involved in crime, prostitution, abuse or even being killed.

Every penny raised from the car washing extravaganza will provide a young person with a safe place and give them the help and support to deal with the underlying reasons for why they ran away.

Soap suds will be at the ready from 10am until 2pm. Anyone wanting to buy a £3 ticket or people who can offer a helping hand should call Sarah on 246918 or e-mail info@healthyrelationships.org.uk.

Lucy Hindmarch, acting director of the Relationships Centre, said the charity would like to thank Aldi staff members Tim and Mark for allowing the event to take place, Halfords and Wickes for supplying materials, Party Bubbles, of Great Sankey for giving balloons.
