PETS at Home store has planned two days of water-based free workshops to help keep children entertained this half term.

Fish are one of the most common household pets and from 2pm today, Tuesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 28, children will get the chance to learn all about these colourful aquatic creatures.

Allan Ferries, Riverside Retail Park store manager, said: “The workshops have been designed to increase awareness and knowledge of how to look after fish as well as being something fun and interesting for children to do over the half term holidays.

“Our store teams are trained to advise on the best way to care for all kinds of pets and through these workshops we can pass on this knowledge to customers and anyone interested in buying a pet.

“If we teach future pet owners at an early age what it means to own a pet, we can help ensure that pets lead happy, healthy lives.”

Children can also watch pets being fed their healthy afternoon snacks, learn about their feeding habits and how to care for pets responsibly during the store’s ongoing picnic time sessions, which take place every weekday afternoon at 4pm, and at 2.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
