PLANS are coming along smoothly for Padgate Walking Day, to be held on June 27.

Peter Edwards, secretary of the walking day committee, pictured, has set the walking day order, which this year includes Woolston churches and schools.

More than 5,000 people are expected to turn out to watch the parade, and around 3,000 are due to participate.

The walk will start at 2.30pm from Padgate Station bridge.

As with the past few years, police and landlords will be closing the pubs in the area during the afternoon to cut back on anti-social behaviour.
