A POLICE boss is reassuring residents that he will be stepping up officers’ patrols in anti-social behaviour hotspots during the school holidays.
Insp Brian Heywood, from Warrington West NPU, said: “There will be an increased police presence in the likes of Mary Ann Meadows, Greystone Rec, Eagle Sports and other hotspots over the holidays and bank holiday weekend to deter youngsters from gathering in these areas.”
Police responded to a report of a gang of around 50 youths being rowdy and drinking alcohol in the fields of Mary Ann Meadows last Friday night.
Officers dispersed the group and confiscated alcohol which was disposed of at Sankey Police Station.
