IF you watched Embarrassing Bodies on Channel 4 last night, you’ll have seen Warrington Hospital’s vulval pain specialist Dr Debashis Mandal treating a patient with the condition.
Dr Mandal, chairman of the British Society for the Study of Vulval Disease, was asked to help the show in raising awareness of the condition.
“Problems of this nature are not as rare as people might think,” said Dr Mandal.
“It has a major impact on their lives, sexual and otherwise. People don’t need to suffer in silence.”
Warrington and Halton Hospitals provide specialist advice and support to patients with the condition.
