RESIDENTS of Great Sankey and Whittle Hall have been faced with an unusual sight of late as Estelle Graham practices for the Great Manchester Run wearing a giant bear outfit.
Estelle, a 42-year-old netballer from Cotterdale Close, Whittle Hall, will be running the 10km in the Netball Super League mascot ThunderBear to raise money for Macmillan nurses who are currently caring for her grandmother.
Estelle, who plays for Warrington Town Netball Club, is hoping to raise at least £350 for the cancer charity.
She said: “In order to raise money for Macmillan I felt I needed a challenge and boy is it a challenge just getting the outfit on.
“I have had some support from passers-by around Whittle Hall and Sankey where I have been training in the suit which is a great help.”
