TREES and bushes in Ridgway Grundy Park, Lymm, were set on fire last night in an arson attack.
Firefighters found five square meters of shrubbery on fire when they were called to the park at 7.45pm.
"While we were there we could have been out doing something important," said one firefighter.
Arson attacks and malicious call outs take firefighters out of action and leave other people at risk, he said.
Police were informed.
