A TOP boss at Warrington Borough Transport has been suspended.
Managing director John Bannister was suspended on Thursday, April 23 after just one year in the post.
An internal investigation is now underway.
Clr Les Hoyle, chairman of Warrington Borough Transport said: “I can confirm that on Thursday 23 April a member of Warrington Borough Transport staff was suspended while an internal investigation takes place.
“As this investigation is now ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment any further at this stage."
Charlie Shannon has been appointed acting managing director while the investigation into Mr Bannister, a former finance director at the bus company before being promoted a year ago, continues.
“Warrington Borough Transport is committed to providing the best possible passenger transport service for everyone who lives, visits and does business in Warrington and our focus remains on delivering a high quality service to our customers,” added Clr Hoyle .
