WARRINGTON’S oldest resident celebrates her 106th birthday today.
Connie Lovell has now received not one, not two, but three congratulatory message cards from the Queen.
The centenarian marked the occasion with family and friends during a party at Heathercroft Care Home in Woolston.
Daughter Jean Woods, aged 74, of Southdale Road, Paddington, said: “I don’t think there is anybody in Warrington, Runcorn or Widnes older than my mum.
“She is marvellous and we’re all very proud of her.”
Born in Daresbury in 1903, Mrs Lovell was the eldest of 10 brothers and sisters, three of whom are still alive and are in their 90s.
She was married for 38 years to Frank Lovell, a joiner who made locks for the Great Manchester Ship Canal.
He died in 1967 and Connie moved into the Dam Lane care home in 2006, after a bad fall at her house in Halton, where she grew up.
Mrs Lovell previously received recognition from Halton Council as its oldest resident when she turned 100.
The 106-year-old has three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, Ayshea, who is nearly two.
