POLICE are warning drivers that cars without up-to-date tax discs can be clamped, towed away and even crushed.
This follows an incident in the Chapelford area where CSO Leanne Gover ensured a car was clamped when it was found to have a tax disc that had expired eight months earlier on October 31. Insp Brian Heywood, from Warrington West NPU, said: “The police have good contacts with agents of the DVLA who can act swiftly to either clamp vehicles or indeed get them towed away and possibly later crushed.”
