DORCHESTER Road Residents’ Association has been granted planning permission to rejuvenate the boat park.
Great Sankey Parish Council has donated £1,000 to the funding of the project, which will cost around £139,000.
Chairman Alan Izzard said: “This is putting the project a step closer to the start of the rejuvenation.
“I would like to thank all those who have helped out with this process.”
More members are being sought to join their committee to help organise and work on different parts of the project with any help appreciated.
The association meets on the last Thursday of every month at 7pm at the Hood Manner Community Centre.
