HARD hats are at the ready as work on a multi-million pound care home in Appleton has started.
The 60-bed home will replace the derelict Chestnut House on Bridge Lane.
Work on the £4 million home, which is being built by G&J Seddon, started on April 24. It will open its doors next March and will create up to 80 jobs.
Chris Calow, relationship manager for the RBS Healthcare team, which is funding the project, said the facility will enhance the range of care available to people in Warrington and the surrounding areas.
Clr Brian Axcell (LD – Appleton) said: “There has been a derelict building here for quite some time so it is great to see work progressing on site."”
