THELWALL Scouts are celebrating their 60th anniversary this year with plans for major improvements to the Scout headquarters.

After racking up so many action-packed years Baden Lodge, originally a Second World War Nissen hut, is getting a much needed facelift with the help of some unlikely benefactors.

The leaders’ bunk-room has been fitted with new beds made of warehouse shelving donated by Hi-Lo PSS Group and Shaw Timber Limited.

Scout Oliver Jones, aged 11, said: “The new leaders’ bunks mean we can have sleepovers indoors now.

“The Cubs and Scouts still have to sleep on roll mats on the floor but we don’t mind, that’s all part of the fun.”
