KRISZTIAN Nemeth scored the only goal of the game as Liverpool Reserves beat Waterloo Dock 1-0 to win the Liverpool Senior Cup.
It was the Hungarian hotshot's first goal of 2009, sealing the Reds' 33rd triumph in the competition after a hard-fought encounter.
Waterloo ensured it was not an easy ride and the Liverpool County Premier League champions had their fair share of chances throughout.
Leighton McGivern saw one effort blocked by Mikel San Jose and had another saved by Dean Bouzanis, while Anthony Battle sent a free header wide from six yards.
Nemeth also went close, having a shot saved by keeper Ryan Brookfield and Daniel Pacheco curled a free kick narrowly wide.
After the break, Gerardo Bruna had a goalbound shot deflected wide before Garry Riley challenge denied Nemeth after he had rounded the keeper.
But the winner came 14 minutes from time, stabbing home Vincent Weijl's cross after an impressive Liverpool move.
