UPDATE: Body found in canal
POLICE say the man found dead in Sankey Valley Canal this morning did not die in suspicious circumstances.
Police cordoned off the area on Liverpool Road in Sankey Bridges after receiving a report of a body floating in the canal at around 8.30am.
The age and identity of the man are not yet known at this stage.
There are currently no road closures and the traffic is moving freely around the area.
