A PAIR of United Utilities customer service managers have taken a side step from their day jobs helping people to raise thousands for an aid charity.

Peter Hicks, aged 35, and 51-year-old Eddie Jennings will be running the London Marathon for the British Red Cross after already pounding the pavements for the charity in the Great North Run in October when they fetched £1,800.

The duo are now hoping to raise £3,600 for the charity and have set up a sponsorship page on the justgiving website where they said: “If anyone can help us reach the ambitious target please get in touch. You make a living by what you get, but make a life by what you give.

“We promise to go through agony, torment and injury for your money and entertainment.”
