ST THOMAS’ Church will close temporarily for health and safety reasons following the ongoing work to the Walton Road place of worship.
Church officials are welcoming residents to come to the services at St Mary Magdalene, Bridge Lane, Appleton, tomorrow, Sunday at 8am and 10.30am.
Sunday services will resume the following Sunday, but the usual opening of the church from Monday to Saturday until 12pm will not resume until early June.
Work to felt and baton the new roof will create fine dust that would not be healthy for visitors.
Speaking on behalf of the church, Sue Burke, church warden, said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience and thank everyone for their patience and continued support during this work.”
