WITH 10 weeks until a community radio station is launched in honour of murdered dad–of–three Garry Newlove by his widow and daughters, the family are looking for 10 volunteers to help with the shows.

Newlove FM, the first project of Newlove Warrington, has seen Helen and her girls Zoe, Danielle and Amy appear on television show Noel’s HQ to help the family kickstart the station, which they hope will improve the sense of community in the town and provide unique opportunities for youngsters.

The Newlove family were inspired to do something positive for the town after the tragic loss of Garry, who was a former DJ with a passion for music, as a legacy to him.

Newlove FM will hit the airwaves from June 27 to July 12, broadcasting a host of shows and community-based projects from a multi–thousand pound sound studio in Golden Square.

The shows will feature interviews with a range of celebrities and Warrington personalities as well as music from local bands and community advice for residents.

Helen said: “We are looking for volunteers and sponsors with lots of opportunities for businesses to get involved including sponsoring the coffee area by the American diner lounge.

“Everything is taking shape and we are really proud of it.

“The support we have been getting from everyone is fantastic. It’s all about having fun and doing something different and positive for the community.”
