POLICE are hunting three knifemen after the Co-Op Late Shop on Knutsford Road, Grappenhall was robbed last night.
The three robbers, all wearing black clothing and balaclavas, threatened the two young cashiers with a six to eight inch knife before stealing a quantity of cigarettes and an amount of cash at around 9.20pm.
The shop assistants, a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, were left very shaken by the incident but were not hurt.
Police have described the men as all being around 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall and speaking with Warrington accents.
One of the men had a BMX bike.
The shop was busy at the time of the robbery and detectives are keen to speak to customers who may have witnessed the crime.
