RESIDENTS in Dallam woke up this morning to find that a vandal had gone on a rampage and smashed car windows across their estate.
Many motorists were left to clean up the broken glass after the attacker hit streets including Summerfield Avenue, Boutling Avenue, Lewis Avenue and Caldwell Avenue and damaged around 20 cars.
The vandal struck on Friday morning, leaving many cars with more than one window put through.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Cheshire Police take all incidents of criminal damage extremely seriously and Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Brian Heywood and his team have increased patrols in the area and are also liaising with the victims, witnesses, key members of the community and all those affected to offer reassurance and any advice or support if needed.
“We believe that this is an isolated incident and not part of a growing pattern.”
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
