OLD Hall Post Office has reached the 2009 People’s Post Office Awards north of England regional final.

The branch at Frobisher Court has been nominated for the ‘most innovative’ award after customers said it demonstrated ‘real creativity in meeting customer needs, in particular promoting the wide range of new and existing Post Office products’.

Christine Nolan, Post Office spokesman, said: “These awards are a great opportunity for our customers to tell us which branches are the very best in the region.

“Whether people visit Old Hall Post Office to pay their bills or pick up their travel money, we’re delighted that they feel the team should be recognised for their hard work and excellent customer service.”

The winner of the most innovative branch award in this heat will be announced at the end of April.

They will then go through to the national final on May 21, sponsored by National Savings and Investments (NS&I).

Jane Platt, NS&I chief executive, added: “To be short listed for the People’s Post Office Awards is a tremendous achievement.

“Those branches nominated have quite clearly outperformed the expectations of their customers in all that they do, and we wish them all the best of luck.”
