TODAY teenagers in Orford will be gathering their litter picking gear and heading to Orford Park for a tidy up.

Warrington Borough Council’s youth support service is hosting the day as part of a bigger project that sees litter picks every Friday evening in Orford Park and Watkin Street.

The aim of the project is to target anti-social behaviour on a Friday evening.

The police, Golden gates Housing, Integrated Youth Support Service, Warrington Wolves Foundation and the Fire Service are all involved with the project.

So far a group of around 50 12 to 19-year-olds are involved in the scheme.

The project has secured a cash grant from the neighbourhood board to decorate and refurnish the ranger hut and provide activities and refreshments over Easter.

The litter pick today will take place between 10am and 3pm.
