A YOUNG dad found in possession of five wraps of cocaine in Warrington town centre has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Joseph Trimble, aged 22, of St David’s Drive in Callands, was caught with the class A drug on Academy Way on March 20.
The apprentice carpenter, a dad-of-one, pleaded guilty at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday after admitting looking after the drugs for a friend.
Sonia Bellerby, prosecuting, said officers had recovered the wraps from his pocket and from the ground where he was standing.
David Robb, defending, said police sniffer dogs had identified he was in possession of drugs and he was foolish to have offered to look after the cocaine.
Trimble was ordered to carry out 50 hours unpaid work.
