AN anti-terrorism poster warning about bomb attacks in town centres has been erected within walking distance of Bridge Street.
The British Transport Police advert has been put up on a billboard on Parker Street near Warrington Bank Quay train station.
The hoarding shows shoppers including mothers and young children on a high street similar to Bridge Street – the scene of the March 1993 IRA bombing that claimed the lives of 12-year-old Tim Parry and three-year-old Johnathan Ball and injured 56 other people.
It reads: “A bomb won’t go off here because weeks before a shopper reported someone studying the CCTV cameras.”
And it urges: “Don’t rely on others. If you suspect it, report it.”
It then lists a confidential anti-terrorist hotline telephone number.
The 16th anniversary of the IRA attack on Warrington was commemorated two weeks ago.
