A COMMUNITY facility aimed at providing information, support and healthcare for carers of babies and young children is in full fruition.

The Sunshine Centre is the one of the latest children’s centres to open in the borough and will provide aid ranging from breastfeeding groups to building self confidence and getting back into employment.

Debbie Jackson, centre manager at the O’Leary Street base which provides services for Fairfield and Howley residents, said the aim is that there will be children’s centres in every area, within a pram pushing distance.

Staff at the pro-active learning establishment - which is based on the site of Beamont Community School - can inform parents of the benefits of healthy eating and healthy lifestyles.

Courses including baby massage and first aid are also available for residents.

A fully equipped play area for children is available to make visits more enjoyable for youngsters Call in to the Sunshine Centre to see how you can benefit from the services on your doorstep.
