AS the four day Easter weekend looms, health bosses in Warrington are urging people not to use A&E for treatment when their doctor’s surgeries are shut.

Instead, people should use the out of hours service at Garven Place in the town centre.

Easter is always a very busy weekend for the hospital’s A&E and bosses want to try and ease some of the pressure put on it.

Many people use A&E as a first resort when their GP or dentist is a more appropriate point of call.

Over the Easter weekend that problem worsens as GPs and dentist surgeries close for four days.

Health bosses urged people to remember the out of hours services provided in Warrington and to make proper use of them.

Everyone registered with a Warrington GP can use Garven Place clinic in the town centre.

It can be contacted on 650999.

There is also an out of hours dentist, which can be contacted on 244654.

You can also call NHS Direct for advice on 0845 4647.
