A GROUP of young people have become the first to complete a pilot project to smooth over the transition from leaving care to finding a job.
The Peacock Project Employability Scheme was launched by the Warrington Guardian’s charity of the year, The Relationships Centre, in partnership with the leaving care team, Connexions and the social regeneration team at Warrington Borough Council in 2008.
Fourteen people aged from 16 to 20 have been taking part in the intensive 12-day course throughout February and March.
The scheme aims to help individuals boost their confidence through team building, achieving qualifications and gaining life-long skills to find the courage to strive for their dream jobs.
