MANCHESTER United fans are in for a treat at The Halliwell Jones Stadium tonight as they will get chance to see some fine young Old Trafford talent in action right on their doorstep.
And they will be taking on an inter-continental Liverpool side that includes Philipp Degen and Jay Spearing, fresh from his European exploits against Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
United's line-up features Carling Cup Final striker Daniel Welbeck, as well as defender Richard Eckersley who made an appearance off the bench against Fulham in the 4-0 FA Cup win at the weekend.
Tomasz Kuszczak, Fabio Da Silva and Rodrigo Possebon, who have all had first-team experience, are in United's line-up, as are Jonny Evans' brother Corry and Oliver Gill, the son of chief executive David Gill.
Lee Martin, who has figured in the Championship on loan with Nottingham Forrest this season, is also set to figure for the visitors.
There is no place in the ranks, though, for Warrington born James Chester - the regular captain of the United reserves team.
Spearing made a second-half appearance for Liverpool in their 4-0 Euro glory night on Tuesday and is included on the bench for a Liverpool side looking to get one over their fiercest rivals on home turf in front of an expected bumper crowd.
