"I am proud of the work our joint administration is doing with the council officers to improve the services we offer to the public across the whole range of our activities. "I am particularly excited about all the plans we are developing for regenerating and improving our town centre and the waterfront in the coming years.

"I am very proud of the excellent co-operation and working relationships the council has built up with the police, the health services, the voluntary sector, business and higher education. "These close relationships are bringing great benefits to the people of the town which is what really matters.
