TAKE some time out from your shopping and escape the crowds at Golden Square with a new quiet space.

The quiet room, which opened on Friday, is open to people of all faiths and a gathering including Bishop of Warrington Rt Rev David Jennings, morderator of the Mersey Synod, Howard Sharp and Dr Hasan Kazi from the Faith group met to cut the ribbon. David Allinson, general manager of Golden Square said: “We always endeavor to improve services for shoppers at Golden Square and this facility will enhance the rest of our offering.”

Allison Claxton, Golden Square’s new chaplain also spoke at the launch event.

She said: “I hope to use this space to meet with people who may need someone to talk to or pray with and as somewhere where I too might find refreshment.

“I hope that visitors to the centre will enjoy using the room for reflective purposes and I will be on hand to assist in any way I can.”
