LIVERPOOL Reserves have announced a line-up boasting senior squad stars David N’Gog and Nabil El Zhar for tonight’s game against Middlesbrough at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Gary Ablett’s team will be hoping to get back to winning ways at the Warrington Wolves’ den, with N’Gog, a £1.5m summer signing by Rafa Benítez, leading the line.
The former Paris Saint–Germain striker has made nine appearances already for the Reds this season, scoring his first goal for Liverpool in a 3–1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.
El Zhar has played 12 times for the first team this term, including a substitute appearance against Wigan at Anfield in October when he helped spark a 3–2 comeback by providing the assist for Albert Riera’s equaliser.
A relatively inexperienced Middlesbrough line–up includes the England Under 18 forward Nathan Porritt, who was the subject of the 2006 BBC Panorama programme ‘Undercover: Football's Dirty Secrets’.
The attacker is reported to have attracted attention from Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Lyon and Monaco.
