A HEARTBROKEN pet owner is appealing to people to search for her beloved cat Perdi.
Jo Roberts, from Petworth Avenue, is seeking help from Orford residents after her tabby cat went missing from Orford Lane on Thursday, November 28, at 10.30am.
The owner was taking her white and brown feline home from the vets when the unsecured crate door opened and Perdi jumped out, hiding under a nearby car.
The 12-year-old female cat has lived with Mrs Roberts for almost eight years.
In the heartfelt appeal, Mrs Roberts, 77, said: “Perdi went under a car in the alleyway. I went for help because I couldn’t get to her, but by the time we all came back Perdi had vanished.

“Perdi is the most lovely companion and a very shy cat. She doesn’t like other cats or dogs; she’s petrified of anything.
“It’s the not knowing. You snuggle up in a warm bed at night and think of her lying there in an alleyway freezing.”
Orford neighbours, friends and family have all been helping to look for Perdi. Mrs Roberts has been in Orford every day since Perdi’s disappearance, knocking on doors and talking with residents, in the hopes of finding her cherished cat. She said: “People in the Orford community have been amazing in helping me look for her.”
Cannon Dave Haywood, St Benedict’s Priory, has been informing people at Mass to look for the timid tabby and has been helping Mrs Roberts to create posters.
Perdi is neutered and microchipped with two recent chip patches on her neck.
