LENNIE White may only be 11 but he’s already raised thousands of pounds for charity – and he’s on the fundraising trail again this December!

The inspirational youngster is running 25 miles this week in support of Warrington Youth Zone’s Christmas toy appeal.

The Year 6 Barrowhall Primary School pupil has completed two of the 3.6 mile runs from his home in Great Sankey to the town centre venue on Dallam Lane, dressed as Santa with five more runs over the next five days.

Lennie is hoping to raise £750 by the end of the week.

The kind-hearted youngster is being supported on his runs by his parents and his Matthiola U11s and Crosfields U11s teammates.

Mum Melissa said: “The support Lennie receives from everyone for each event he does is just incredible.

“He’s been very lucky to be joined by some of his rugby and football teammates for the first two runs and he’s really enjoying it.

“His legs are a little sore after two days but the fact he’s raising money for other children this Christmas keeps him running.”

Lennie said: “Each year I set myself a challenge in order to raise money for my local youth zone who support many local families at Christmas.

“No child should have to wake up on Christmas day without gifts.

“It makes me really happy that I can help other children in my community that aren't as lucky as me and I just love knowing that I'm making them smile on Christmas morning.

“The support I receive each year is amazing and I really do appreciate every donation no matter how big or small.”

The Barrow Hall Primary School pupil is no stranger to charity fundraising having collected food for Warrington Food Bank, run 3km a day for 30 days and 30 sit ups a day for 30 days in the past few years as well as a 48-mile bike ride to five local Rugby League stadiums, climbed Mount Snowdon, completed the Cancer Research Race for Life and helped with the Christmas toy appeal each year at Warrington Youth Zone.

Back in August, Lennie cycled 78 miles from Warrington Wolves Stadium to Leeds Elland Road Stadium for the Super League’s Magic Weekend in aid of the Rob Burrow Centre MND Appeal.

Lennie was the worthy winner of our Junior Fundraiser of the Year Award in March 2023 at the Warrington Guardian Inspiration Awards.
