AN urgent foster home appeal has been launched after a ‘severely neglected’ dog was found in Cinnamon Brow and brought to the gates of a Warrington animal shelter.
Seven-year-old Frankie is in ‘urgent need of care and kindness’ according to a heart-breaking appeal made by Warrington Animal Welfare.
The charity was met with the sight of sadness this morning, Friday, as the dog of unknown breed was brought to its gates in bad health.
Pictures of Frankie posted by WAW show him to have a skin condition which means patches of his fur are missing all of his body.
As well as long overgrown nails and ‘clear signs of neglect’.
An urgent appeal has been launched by the charity on social media to find the pup a foster home.
A statement from WAW said: “Yesterday, a kind member of the public brought this poor dog, called Frankie, to our gates after finding him in Cinnamon Brow, Warrington.
“He had a scruffy metal lead around his neck, painfully long claws, and his skin is in a terrible condition. It's clear he has been severely neglected and is in urgent need of care and kindness.”
It continued: “While we work to find out more about Frankie (his chip is sadly not up to date), we are urgently appealing for a foster home for him.
“Ideally, we’re looking for someone local to Warrington who can offer him the love and stability he so desperately needs right now.”
Anyone interested in fostering Frankie is urged to private message the charity on Facebook.
