A PAIR of best friends from Orford will hold a Christmas themed pub crawl to help raise money for St Rocco’s.
Lee Kinsey and Vinny Yearsley are two close friends who spend the year holding various fundraising events for St Rocco’s.
Earlier this year, the pair organised their annual walk from The Halliwell Jones Stadium to Salford in which 80 people took part.
They didn’t stop there though, and even held a special Full Monty Performance which raised a stagging £12,500.
“It makes me and Vinny fell very proud,” said Lee.
“We both have our problems and it’s good to get people together.”
This year will mark the return of the duo’s Christmas pub crawl, where participants put on their best fancy dress and take to the streets of Warrington.
Last year, 72 people joined in the festive fun, but every year the event gets bigger and bigger as more than 120 people are expected to take part next week.
“It’s just got bigger and bigger,” said Lee.
“It’s a brilliant day, everyone is friendly and it’s a great laugh.
“It just gets people out and making new friends. I think I made about 50 new friends last year along the way.”
The pub crawl take place on December 7 at midday at the Palmyra Cocktail Bar on Springfield Street.
Then, participants will make their way to Hideout, on Sankey Street, Tank Bar and Live Lounge, on Cairo Street.
Finally, the group will stop at The Feathers, on Bridge Street, before they conclude the crawl at the Kings Head Pub, on Winwick Street.
There, participants will enjoy live music, a DJ and a room gifted to them for free by the pub to help the cause.
The duo asks that those wanting to take part wear their finest Christmassy fancy dress, pay £10 in the charity bucket and have a good time.
“All we do, me and Vinny, we just like getting people together,” said Lee.
“It’s what we do. We are just two lads from Orford who just want to have a good craic and get people out.”
“We have a great laugh. We only live once, and we enjoy it. We just enjoy doing what we’re doing.”
It is expected that the pair will have raised more than £20,000 for St Rocco’s by the end of the year, and they don’t plan on stopping there.
Next year, Lee and Vinny plan to complete a 70-mile walk in 24 hours among other fundraising activities to continue supporting the hospice.
