AN adored family dog has become the inspiration for a new children’s book.
Grappenhall debut author Ian Robinson has released his first ever picture book, aimed towards a young audience, and has taken inspiration from his lovable pup Ember.
His book, Ember The Fox-Red Farm Pup, takes readers on an adventure through a farmyard, where Ember is trying to make friends with some of the farm animals she meets along the way.
But to her disappointment, her bright red fur finds her mistaken as a fox and scares the animals away.
Author Ian said the theme the story is based around is “being curious not judgemental”.
Referring to the inspiration behind his book, he said: “The story was inspired by walks along the Trans-Pennine Trail with our family dog, who is also called Ember, as we introduced her to the animals that live along the trail.”
The book has been self-published in partnership with Magic Mouse Books, an imprint of Partnership Publishers; and is available to purchase online from Waterstones, Foyles, The Great British Bookshop and Amazon.
And if you want to follow the real-life Ember, you can find her on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
