A FREE tennis taster session will take place next month to showcase how exercise can help mental health.
After the success of the free Mental Health Day session, Birchwood Tennis Centre has announced a second taster session.
On December 12, the free tennis session will be held at the tennis centre on Benson Road between 12pm and 1.30pm.
“The purpose is to show people how the benefits of playing the game of tennis can go along way to help those who are suffering with anxiety, mental health or other related concerns,” a spokesperson said.
“Playing tennis is fun and the social interaction with others creates an enjoyable atmosphere helping wellbeing.
“We would love to see you, your friends and anyone else who you think would like to become involved. No booking is required. Just turn up and we will do the rest.”
The session is open to all age groups and a coach from the Lawn Tennis Association will be on hand to help.
No tennis experience or equipment is required, and refreshments will be available following the session.
