FIREFIGHTERS assessed the occupants of a car for injuries following a crash.

Two fire engines from Warrington and Penketh fire stations attended the Omega area this morning.

This came after Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a one-vehicle road traffic collision.

A spokesman for the fire service confirmed that crews were called to Omega Boulevard shortly before 11.30am.

On arrival at the scene, they found that a car had collided with a lamppost.

No one was trapped in the vehicle, and crews assessed two people for minor injuries.
