POLICE have again renewed an appeal for help in identifying three women wanted over the despicable theft from a man in a wheelchair.
Cheshire Police has previously released CCTV stills of the women after the vulnerable victim had thousands of pounds in cash stolen in Warrington town centre.
At around 11.30am on Monday, October 14, a man in a wheelchair withdrew £4,000 from the Barclays bank branch on Market Gate.
After leaving the bank, the man returned to his car in Legh Street car park.
As the man was putting his wheelchair back into his car, he was distracted by an unknown woman who began talking to him.
While the man was being distracted, a second woman entered his car and stole the £4,000 cash from the vehicle, with both women then leaving the scene.
Enquiries in relation to the incident have been ongoing since then, with officers previously releasing the CCTV stills as part of the investigation.
Now, Cheshire Police has again asked for the images to be circulated to the public in a bid to identify the suspects.
PC Graham Davies, of the force’s Warrington town centre beat team, said: “From our initial investigation, it would appear that that the suspects followed the victim across Warrington after watching him withdraw the cash.
“After stealing the money, we believe that the offenders fled in a taxi which took them to the Paddington area.
From there, we have been unable to trace their whereabouts, although it is likely that they have travelled to Warrington from another area.
“As part of our ongoing investigation, we are keen to identify the three women in the CCTV images, as we believe they may hold vital information.”
Anyone with any information in relation to the identities of the women is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting 24000875860, or visit cheshire.police.uk/tell-us
