HOUSE prices in Warrington have increased, rising more than the average across the North West.
This is according to figures from the Office for National Statistics which show the average house price in Warrington in the year to September was £258,700.
This is a 0.8 per cent increase on August.
It was also higher than average across the north west, where prices increased by 0.4 per cent.
The rise in Warrington contributes to the longer-term trend in the area, which has seen property prices in the area grow by 3.9 per cent over the last year.
It means the area ranked 22nd among the north west’s 35 local authorities for annual growth, with the average price in Warrington rising by £9,700 over the past year.
The highest annual growth in the north west was in Blackburn with Darwen, where property prices increased on average by 9.6 per cent.
Across the UK, average house prices in September fell slightly on the month before, but have accelerated by 2.9 per cent over the past year.
