STRICTLY St Rocco’s is celebrating 10 years next month.

And this year there is a twist as people can watch and vote from their own home.

The team behind the event, which raises vital funds for St Rocco’s Hospice, want to make this year the biggest and best yet.

So people are being invited to get together with their family and friends to host their own Strictly party.

This year, St Rocco’s will be live streaming the performances by the contestants on its Facebook page and for the first time, people will be able to have their say and vote by donating on the night.

At the end of the evening, those watching at home will be able to see the winning couple declared.

There will also be another way to get involved through Strictly St Rocco’s. This is through a silent auction which will open on November 24.

There will be an opportunity to browse a variety of gifts and experiences, with 100 per cent of proceeds going directly to the hospice.

The auction will close towards the end of the evening of Strictly St Rocco’s on December 1 and winning bidders will be notified.

Over the last decade, Strictly St Rocco’s has raised £700,000 towards patient care at the hospice.  This money has had a huge impact on the care and services delivered to people with a terminal diagnosis across Warrington.

During this time, St Rocco’s has cared for over 2,000 patients on their inpatient ward, answered tens of thousands of calls to its palliative care hub and delivered many other appointments, drop-in sessions, and counselling services.

The team at the hospice say this specialist care would not be possible without the generosity of the Warrington community and the dedication of those that support it.

A spokesperson for the hospice said: “We would like to thank Greenalls who are sponsoring the event.

“A special thank you also goes out to the 90 brave dancers that have taken part over the last 10 years and to Cadmans Dance Centre who have supported the event year after year, putting on a spectacular show.

“So, join us on December 1 for all the action.  Make sure you tag us in your photos, whether you’re dancing around your living room in your PJs or dressed in your finest attire at a friend’s house.  We would love to know you are celebrating with us.  Use #TeamRoccos to tag us on all your social media channels.”

Victoria Millward, principal and owner of Cadmans said, “It has been a privilege supporting Strictly St Rocco’s over the last 10 years.

“Our team at Cadmans have enjoyed teaching a new skill to many of the dancers and it is a fabulous feeling, seeing all the practice come together on the night.”
