A SUSPECT has been named by police over an allegation of headbutting a bouncer in a bar.
It follows a reported incident at the start of the weekend at a bar on Bold Street in Warrington town centre.
Shortly after 10pm, it was reported that a bouncer had been headbutted in the face, causing a cut and swelling to the right eye.
A suspect from Orford was arrested and has since been charged with assault, and they are due to face the charge before the courts in the new year.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 10.19pm on Friday, November 15, officers were called to an altercation on Bold Street, Warrington.
“Officers attended and found that a bouncer had been assaulted.
“A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault in relation to the incident.
“Kristian Bell, of Meteor Crescent, Warrington, has since been charged with assault by beating and has been bailed to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on January 7, 2025.”
